Gym injury??

We go to gym or play sports not just for fun but more importantly for maintaining or building our physical strength. With increasing awareness about physical health and visits to weekend sports complex, we do see increase in doctor's office visits, among otherwise young and active population. Usual complains: 1- knee or shoulder pain and/or instability 2- Back/ Neck pain 3- Tennis/ Golfers elbow 4- Ankle pain / Biceps tear and many more. Probable Reasons: 1- Nutritional insuffeciency 2-Poor/ incorrect technique 3-Poor water intake 4-"Ego" lifting 5- Overworked Muscle or joint 6- Lack of proper rest and heeling time 7- Most important- Lack of preconditioning of the Muscle group/ Lack of streching exercises before actual workout. There are terms in medical dictionary like "weight lifter's Shoulder, Runner's Knee, Weekend Worriors etc, emphesising on the incidences of injuries among young and active population and therefore we should be aware and alert while performing such activities.
